OBJECTIVE:
To describe a durable surgical option for treatment of ischemic VSD.
METHODS:
Two patients at our institution underwent repair of ischemic VSD using a double bovine pericardial patch sandwich technique with pre- and post-operative imaging.
RESULTS:
Both patients who underwent the described repair had no residual shunt on echocardiography post operatively and were doing well at most recent follow up.
CONCLUSIONS:
The described double sandwich patch technique is a tension free and durable surgical option for treatment of ischemic VSD.
