Resection of Mediastinal Teratoma

OBJECTIVE: This is a case describing a robotic excision of a teratoma invading the lung.
METHODS: CT showed this mass being fed by a branch of the right middle lobe pulmonary artery which was embolized preoperatively.
RESULTS: Pathology showed the teratoma consisting of mostly cutaneous elements including, epidermis, sebaceous glands, hair follicles, and mature fat.
CONCLUSIONS: This is one of a few cases of mediastinal teratomas invading adjacent structures.
