OBJECTIVE: A 54-year-old African American male presented with shortness of breath, vague abdominal discomfort and 35-pound weight loss over the past 3 months. His past medical history was remarkable for moderate restrictive lung disease, right testicular germ cell tumor, and left neck teratoma. CT scan revealed an anterior mediastinal mass (11.4 x 16.7 cm).
METHODS: Biopsy attempts were non-diagnostic and the mass was surgically resected
RESULTS: Adenocarcinoma arising from an enteric cyst
CONCLUSIONS: Patient tolerated the procedure well and underwent systemic therapy
